



Kuivasaari Day Trip
Welcome to experience Finland's largest cannon on historic Kuivasaari
A popular and unique nature excursion to a closed military island from Helsinki's Market Square aboard Royal Line's m/s RoyalCat. These themed excursions are available for a limited time on only three summer weekends in August. Onboard, you can enjoy salmon and vegetable soup.
The guided tour's main highlight is the massive Obuhov gun turret with its 12-inch barrels, which is still fully operational in terms of its mechanics.

The price includes a cruise ticket, the ship's salmon soup (L, G) or vegetable soup (V, G) as well as guided tours on the island and access to the museum cannon (a part of the ticket proceeds is used for the restoration and maintenance of the cannon).

The duration of the boat trip is about 1 hour. The total duration of the day trip is about 4.5 hours. About 2.5 hours is spent on the island.
NOTE
- Participation in the excursion requires Finnish citizenship, so a passport or ID card must be brought along. Identity will be checked upon arrival on the island. The final tour on Sunday, August 31, 2025, is also open to foreign visitors.
- It is recommended to dress according to the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes.
- Photography on the island is allowed.
